In the largest country in South America, you can venture out in search of toucans, and jaguars in the wild, relax under the golden sun on a secluded beach with white sand and crystal clear waters, or on an island, or join in the fun of a cultural festival. In autumn, Brazil is an absolutely unique and unforgettable destination.

We put together some itineraries tips for those planning a trip to Brazil during the next couple of months!

HOLAMBRA (SP)

Holambra, known as the “City of Flowers,” is a Brazilian municipality in the state of São Paulo and a micro-region of Campinas. Its name, a junction of Holanda, América, and Brasil, is due to the Dutch colony established in the old Ribeirão farm, close to the state of São Paulo with Minas Gerais. Holambra is just over a 40-minute drive from Campinas and about 130 km from São Paulo. The journey by car from São Paulo takes about 2 hours.

Holambra is officially considered a tourist resort and annually promotes the largest flower exhibition in Latin America: Expoflora. With skilled labor in the agricultural sector, the municipality stands out as the largest center for producing flowers and ornamental plants in Latin America. Today, the city is responsible for producing and selling about 40% of all flowers and ornamental plants produced in Brazil.

In addition, the city’s architecture is mirrored in the Netherlands. Some examples are Boulevard Hollande and Rua Dória Vasconcelos; visitors can buy various items on these streets and feel like they are traveling through Europe! Rua Dória Vasconcelos is the most famous street in the city, with several restaurants and shops.

JOINVILLE (SC)

Another city known as the city of flowers is Joinville, in Santa Catarina. The most popular attractions are the Zoobotanical, a mixture of Zoo and Botanical Garden, and the Island Winery, where numerous species are planted next to each other in a huge field. With about 570 thousand inhabitants, the municipality has an Atlantic Forest reserve where rural tourism is practiced, perfect for immersion in nature and adventure.

Another highlight is the Festa das Flores, a city’s historical heritage celebration, held for over 75 years in November. On the event days, more than 4,500 types of orchids are exhibited, selected from national and international exhibitors. The nearest airport to Joinville is 9.9 km away. Other nearby airports include Navegantes (67 km), Curitiba (92 km), and Florianópolis (154.3 km).

ATIBAIA (SP)

Atibaia is a city in southeastern Brazil and close to São Paulo. The destination is one of the best to travel with family. On a cable car ride, you can enjoy the panoramic view of the city, with all its vegetation, lakes, and flowers. Another important stop is Edmundo Zanoni Municipal Park, a great option for those who want to relax and enjoy nature.

Located just 70 km from the capital of São Paulo, Atibaia has an ancient history, having been founded by the pioneers in 1665. The distance of only 1 hour from the capital makes it a very accessible destination. With outdoor activities and seasonally themed parties, spring is the best time to visit the city, when rain is less likely, and temperatures are cooler.

GRAVATÁ (PE)

Known as the “Brazilian Switzerland,” Gravatá, a city in the State of Pernambuco (Northeast Brazil), is located in the mountains. The place is surrounded by flowery landscapes, and the pleasant climate does not disappoint. The city is just 86 kilometers from Recife, the state’s capital, which also deserves a few days on arrival in Pernambuco.

Famous for its festivities (São João, Semana Santa, Circuito do Frio), Gravatá’s main highlight has always been seasonal tourism and vacation homes. With the increase in the flow of tourists, the hotel chain invested in setting up hotels that combine the best of the region: comfort with proximity to nature. Gravatá has several farm hotels with various activities available, such as swimming pools, horseback riding, and much more.

AIR CONNECTIVITY:

The main North American cities have daily flights to Brazil’s most strategic air hubs, such as Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. From there, visitors have hundreds of flights to all Brazilian capitals and tourist cities.
