Today, The Ritz-Carlton, San Juan, proudly announced that it has appointed José Martín as Chef de Cuisine of the resort’s BLT Steak restaurant, a Puerto Rican outpost of the renowned Manhattan steakhouse. In this position, he will oversee all culinary operations of the award-winning restaurant, one of only two BLT Steak locations in the Caribbean.
A native of Argentina, Chef Martín has a wealth of culinary knowledge and international experience in the hotel industry. His most recent position was at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman where he held the position of Chef de Cuisine, overseeing several culinary areas during his nearly four years with the resort. Prior to his role in Grand Cayman, he served as Executive Chef at the Curacao Marriott Beach Resort & Emerald Casino, Executive Chef at the Del Bono Park Hotel in Argentina and Chef de Partie at the world famous Ritz Hotel in London.
With more than twenty years of experience, Chef Martín realized his passion for cooking at an early age when he worked for his mother in her mountaintop café in Córdoba, Argentina. He is a known for his passionate and commitment to quality.
